💴 This Week in Manufacturing

Manufacturers take pride in the precise details of their work. That pride is exemplified by our feature company’s work in electroplating. Let’s dive in!

Our feature company is Theta Plate, Inc. out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family-owned ITAR-compliant and ISO 9001-certified company delivers on both efficiency and effectiveness. Electroplating involves intense and specific chemical processes on interior and exterior parts. Takes skill to get that right and get it done fast!

This week’s first podcast, from Augmented Ops, covers jewelry, one of Theta Plate’s industries, but from a technology angle. The second podcast, Advanced Manufacturing Now, highlights the challenges facing service technicians; a key resource in companies like Theta Plate.

Our headlines this week showcase American innovations in healthcare robotics, solar manufacturing production, ultra-fine 3D printing, and more. No detail is too small!

Finally, this week’s Social Video details the electroplating process in action while our Fun Fact highlights the growth potential of the industry itself. The future looks shiny.

♨️ Theta Plate, Inc.

Aaron Velasquez’s family-owned ITAR-compliant and ISO 9001-certified company has been serving customers’ aerospace, mil-spec, and decorative electroplating needs for nearly five decades.

Since purchasing the business from his parents in 1994, Velasquez and his wife, Jessica, have maintained the company’s original scope. Currently, Velasquez is working on improving Theta Plate’s market share within the company’s biggest customer bases.

By cross-training employees and working collaboratively from the get-go, Theta Plate is able to swiftly move through orders at a rate that many contemporaries are unable to match while simultaneously keeping a high level of accountability throughout.

Upshot:  "Since we’re structured as an open collaborative, everyone is pretty accountable. You can see what’s working, and what’s not. Very few things get stuck in the corner, so to speak.”
