This Week in Manufacturing

Providing well-made products no longer satisfies the minimum requirement for a modern manufacturing company. American manufacturers today need to provide thought leadership, customer service, and training to thrive. Let’s dive into some examples with today’s feature company!

Our feature company is Inspection Engineering of Westlake, Ohio and they have steadily grown into a regional powerhouse of both community support and excellent precision measurement tools. Inspection also provides consultations and training to manufacturers needing to improve accuracy and efficiency in their operations.

Continuing Inspection Engineering’s well-rounded approach is a video from their YouTube channel.

Additionally, our podcasts this week focus on integrating industrial software (Augmented Ops) and improving delivery through automation and AI (Advanced Manufacturing Now).

♨️ Inspection Engineering

What started out in 1977 in founder Chuck Bergmann’s basement as a three-person family business selling digital readouts for equipment to machine shops, has turned into a regional powerhouse in the precision measurement industry.

Today, Inspection Engineering sells, installs, and calibrates various kinds of measuring equipment for a variety of manufacturing companies, as well as providing their own precision measuring service and consultations, advice, and training to manufacturers needing to improve accuracy and efficiency in their operations.

They now have Tech Centers in Ohio and surrounding states servicing multiple states and employing almost 40 people.

Upshot: "Our platform will keep track of every instrument in the building, and lets them know where it is, what the working condition is, and when it’s next due for calibration or maintenance."
